The past Canjam Singapore was my first Canjam and I honestly loved the experience. Other than getting to meet some fine folks and enthusiasts, I picked up some IEMs that I didn't expect to like on a second listen (because I didn't like them on the first) or hadn't even heard of.

In the latter category is the Madoo Type 512, a hybrid dynamic planar IEM from Japan.

Priced at less than $1000, it certainly won't deliver flagship-level technicalities. But damn, it sounds so whole. I use it a lot at the gym because it has such a delectable bass, sub to mid bass all in perfect harmony. Great sense of slam and tactility, all the while staying clean and never trespassing into mids. The mids themselves are entirely lush and treble is conspicuous in its ability to not color the sound either towards brightness or too much warmth. Its an overall warm tuning and the IEM's party trick lies in its slam factor, nearly matched by its lush vocals and midrange. The imaging and layering are also rather impressive for its price point (perhaps, for any price point). Highly recommend.
