Although I have listed the VE7 for sale, I am in absolute two minds because I have made the classic mistake of giving it a “one last listen”.

Famously lush midrange, treble just the way I like it (present but polite but not to a fault), and bass that sounds quite rounded. Purely for midrange tuning, I would take it over many other more expensive IEMs I own.

Even in terms of technicalities, it impresses for resolution, imaging and layering. I would say it easily trades blows with an ie900, and even the Z1R.

Overall, the VE7’s party trick is a well-rounded tonality, a midrange that’s just the right amount of lush, and great note weight.

I was just playing Blue and Sentimental by Ike Quebec and the weight of Grant Green’s guitar is very lifelike!
